Permalink Anyone have Mr Moto tabs in Guitar Pro format?

New Topic

I've been listening to surf music while I work, and playing along with a game called Rocksmith after work. I found a decent amount of surf and instrumental music - but also found a serious lack of some of the standards. No Mr. Moto? No Baja?

Anyway - for me to create a CDLC (game file) to play along with, I need the song in mp3 format and the tabs in Guitar Pro format. I wanted to try my hand at Mr Moto - I was thinking the Ventures version from their 1962 album. Does anyone have a link to Guitar Pro format tabs for Mr Moto? And if not the 1962 Ventures, version - another would be fine so long as I can find an mp3 for it.

I know this is kinda straying from the general surf music theme - but I play Rocksmith 2014 every night and have recently started focusing on trying to play lead, bass and rhythm for surf and instrumentals - so thought I'd ask.

If any of you are using Guitar Pro and if it has a decent amount of surf music - let me know. I could always go that route.

Hi Someotherbruce, PM me for Mr. Moto in Guitar Pro format. The tab downloads on SG101 are .txt and .pdf only. Regarding version, I would recommend using The Belairs version. That's the classic. Paul Johnson, who wrote it, is a member (pjmoto) here at SG101.

I saw the list of Rocksmith surf and instrumental CDLC you posted in another thread. I definitely plan to try it out.

You asked if there is a decent amount of surf music in Guitar Pro. I say there is enough to be worth your while, but you won't find it all in one place. It's spread all over the internet. A lot of it is behind paywalls, this is especially true of the YouTubers that offer their guitar lesson videos for free but use Patreon to monetize the tab (in GuitarPro format) and MP3 backing tracks for the lessons. YouTuber AnyOneCanPlayGuitar has several good surf tabs on his Patreon site. If you want to improve your technique, I recommend you check out Bernth. If you join his Patreon site for just one month you will be able to download enough lessons to last a lifetime. It's very metal/shred oriented, but the lessons are great.

Do a search. This was covered over a decade ago, methinks. The man who wrote it actually weighed in on the accuracy as well.
