Hi all,
Lately I have been going to my local beach, Ventura County Line ( yes, as mentioned in Surfing USA, for you non locals) and playing guitar on my tailgate overlooking the surf break. I am looking for a decent battery op reverb pedal. There are a few out there, and I am asking if any of you have direct experience with this. Years ago I would use an FRV pedal, but I ditched that eons ago as I never liked how it sounded. Please let me know!

Sounds lovely. I've never heard a surf guitar while actually at the beach! (Never been to a surf pier show, but I did see Patti Smyth there once.)
You could use the 12 volts from your car to power a SB, just need any old 12-volt car connector and that little SB connector (2.5mm?). Or with some hassle, buy or make a little 12-volt battery and wire it. There are a silly amount of 12-volt batteries everywhere, just need to put the right connector on it. Center positive, 12 volts, 1A is what it wants.
I don't know a thing about digital pedals haha!

That thing is for 9 volt batteries, so a SB would not work. But you could do 18 volts!

Glad I could be of some help Mel. Sounded like you were trying to keep the setup simple. Topanga's a great pedal.

Zoom G1Xon and G1on use four AA alkaline cells in an internal compartment as an alternative to a wall-wart power supply. Glorious spring reverb emulation ("Springs 63"), plate reverb, delays and compressions abound, along with numerous other effects all built in. This model is available used for $60 or less and has been discontinued. Newer models are available for higher prices but I don't know about batteries for them.
