From the Mermen,
"This new Mermen album was recorded in the midst of the COVID disaster – ups and downs and plans canceled etc. The tracks on this album were meant as pre-production rehearsals, idea development, and some music recorded for an upcoming film. Jim, Jennifer, and Martyn were not able to get it together to make an official album because of family related COVID events. Jim decided to release these tracks before they were scattered to the wind, and, he felt didn’t want to revisit recording the songs at a later time. Daniel Guaqueta is the drummer on the resulting tracks. Please Note; Martyn Jones is the official drummer of The Mermen. There are no changes in Mermen personnel. These tracks happened when Daniel happened to be in the Santa Cruz neighborhood and visited the studio between his surf sessions. We had some fun playing. We hope you enjoy the new music.
As of 3/14/21 The new CD is available for presale, It is currently being manufactured and will arrive in about 2 weeks. Downloads be for sale with all major digital vendors and will be available for sale within 2 weeks or less."

Jeff, Gellert, you're both welcome! Looking forward to hearing this. If you haven't heard them with the album's fill-in drummer, Daniel, he's really good! He has often sat in with them at shows, and played on a track on one of the last three Mermen albums. Jim & Jennifer had a Shi-Tones style band, King Blue, with Daniel on drums. There are no albums by this band. They've only played live, and not very often.
