I have been looking at getting a Tremolux single 10" Tone-Ring cab for a while now, or even getting one made by Mather Cabs (and I hear that Beaver Bottoms also offers them). Matt Quilter had one made for him, and posted about it back in September 2020. Anyway, recently there was a rehabilitated Fender cab for sale at a reasonable price so I had to get it before it slipped away. Thanks to my brother from another mother & bandmate, josheboy for generously spotting me some sweet sweet PayPal credit to grab it.
I installed a used/reconed JBL K110 that I bought some time ago, and was relieved to hear it sounded good for my purposes.
SanchoPansen wanted to hear a recordings, and since there are not a lot of online recordings with this setup, I figured I would put something on YouTube.
I didn't do any audio processing on purpose, (no eq and no compression) so you can hear it as-is. Mind you, the guitar is setup to be bottom-heavy intentionally.
AVRI62 Jazzmaster (15-65 Flatwounds)-> 65 Fender Reverb Unit -> 61 Tremolux -> 62 cab with K110 -> Shure SM57-> Tascam US-20×20
Video starts with 10 seconds of images then music.
In general I think this is useful for lower volume gigs (when gigs are a thing again), and recording.
I don't have a good room mic, but to my ears,it sounded good in the room.,
Hope this is useful to someone,
Ran

That sounds VERY good. The tone is really focused. I don't know about gigging with it but you could do alot worse having it in the stable for recording purposes.

Thanks Badger! Gigs - I was thinking coffee shop scenarios and that sort of volume. I believe the 10" JBLs are not as resilient as the 15", so one has to be careful.
Three bands immediately spring to mind that could pull this off with a live drummer - El Caminos, The Exotics, and Superwave.

Cool set up Ran!! That sounds awesome!!
I've done a lot of smaller gigs with my Tremolux but it is a 2x10 with JBL D110's. That was my go-to restaurant rig for places like The Flying Bridge and Don's Dagger Bar.
JBL's specs. say the K110 is rated for 75-150 watts so you should be fine powering that with the Tremolux. Did that cab come with the tone ring? Or did you modify it?

Thanks Ben! You guys always sound good even at very low volumes.
This cab was rehabilitated by the previous owner:
When he got the cab, it was painted black, the baffle had been hacked out for a 15" speaker, and all the hardware was gone.
He recovered it in Fender blonde tolex, installed all new hardware, and built a tone ring baffle (Fender Specs) covered with new oxblood grill cloth.
I wanted to get a cab like this but the ones I was seeing for sale were really pricey, sometimes ending up selling at close to $1200. This one was offered for a reasonable price, and I didn't want the Oxford speaker he was offering it with so he knocked down a little more.
Being that I am not a collector, I didn't mind the fact it was recovered. The tone-ring baffle looks to be well made.
I didn't know how will the low end sound. It's obviously not as heavy as a 15" full-size tone-ring cab can be, but it's definitely not lacking, so I am happy.

I guess you're right, Ran.
Maybe a new project once this covid thing is over??
Cheers,
Andy

Since cosmonaut said there was conflicting info about the dimensions...
Here are the external dimensions:
27"×17"×11.5"
Hope this helps anyone wanting to build one.
