Permalink Bass Guitar Tablature ?

New Topic

As some of you already know from my earlier posts, my untrained ears have been struggling with the bass lines of classic surf instro tracks (starting with “Surfrider”) and I haven’t made much progress since I last posted (think it’s a combination of only having dabbled in the guitar and not quite being sure of what I’m listening for).

Anyway, I got to thinking that maybe there’s some sort of surf bass guitar tablature book I could buy, or something like that ? (I’m interested in bass lines in surf instro out of a general curiosity about composition.)

Any suggestions ?

PG

I have no idea if a surf bass book even exists. Mostly because there is only a handful of surf guitar books (at the most), so you may be out of luck on that path. But I may be wrong, and hopefully someone here can give some awesome info. The best advice I can give is just keep trying.

I think Brian's wife tabbed out bass parts for a couple of songs that were posted back at the old Yahoo group.

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

I'm a bit of a techno-luddite. Can I go back into the old site and check them out ?

Where would they be ?

Wow, you are right Warren, I forgot about that. If you were a member of the SG101 Yahoo Group you can get back in and go to the files area and grab those. I'll post them over here when I get some time.
