So my friends Jim Haggerty (bass) and Chris Anzalone (drums) are both available for remote recording. send a wav file, they send back exactly what you needed for the track.
this was done totally remotely; I did a basic guitar track, then drums, then bass, then extra guitar. If you're sick of trying to find a surf beat in GarageBand, real humans can help! feel free to contact me for their info.

That sounds like a great option for recording, especially in terms of drums, since I find that the hardest part to do well without an actual drummer involved.
You might want to post this in the Recording or Surf Musician forums, as the people most likely to take advantage of this would be chekcing those forums.
