Permalink NGD: Fender 50th Anniversary Jaguar Burgundy Mist Metallic

I was searching for the right Jaguar for some years, bought and sold AVRI 62 that was a little dull in the wood, had some relationships with Japanese reissues that were great in the wood put not so in electronics and hardware, tried Johnny Marr that was great but I didn’t really enjoyed pickups and modded switches. Several Mexican jags, classic player, vintera, even Squire Classic Vibe that was surprisingly good!
And now here it is)

Looking at the plate with palms and this color I already knew that this is the one!))) Guitar is pretty well reliced, that I generally enjoy and had some years in the hands of a famous rock musician here, so had a tough touring history.

I really like the resonant wood here (much better that 62’s I played), neck with binding and inlays (but the neck could be a little fatter as for my taste).

Tremolo position: I know that a lot of you don’t enjoy anything that differs from “classic”, but it really seems to me a good solution between original tremolo and a stopbar. I do not notice any real change in sound and feeling, may be a little more of sustain and depth. Tuning stability is great here, but I think mostly because previous owner equipped it with Gotoh locking tuners)

Original bridge was changed for Mustang one (and somehow backwards?), but I am still not sure about it, cause it has 7.25 radius, and guitar has 9.5) I don’t feel a problems playing it this way, but think of buying Staytrem.

Pickups: not so hot as I expected, but they surely have more balls the 62 reissue keeping all that Jaguar jangle, piercing attack, clear highs and powerful bass.

Generally this is the best Jag I ever played! Not so many I’ve played, though)))

Congrats, she's a beauty! If you don't get on with the pickups, I can't recommend enough the Fender Pure Vintage '65 pickups.

That’s a beautiful instrument.

First, congrats that is a great looking Jag.
Just a heads-up regarding the Mustang bridge: if you can't get your hands on a Staytrem, and are looking for a 9.5" radius Mustang style bridge, Fender actually sells the bridge from the American Professional Series Jag/Jazzmaster (which is basically a Mustang bridge with a 9.5" radius) as a separate part.

Thanks for a nice tip!

I’ve tried 65 pickups on 60th laquer jaguar, they are also great! But I like these better, hot rod Jaguar)

The neck is ok, however it could be a little fatter as I prefer chunky profiles.
