1964 Gibson GA25-RVT Hawk - it's only $199 - earlier ws a typo... sorry.

This looks like the 2 X 10 version with the 7591's - the seller says it has 2 x 12's but I doubt that - they are likely 10's - it is like a Vibrolux.

I had a '63 GA30RVT and it was a great sounding amp.

The Hawk is no match for a Vibrolux Reverb amp. I have a few Gibson/Epiphone's in my collection and they are kinda cool in a quirky way, but I wouldn't take one to play out with....no power. Really great tremolos though. ed

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

Yeah well, my amp was a great sounding amp, but it was very heavy, only 30 watts, and I couldn't sell it for over $400 even after I serviced it. And the reverb disappeared when it was on high volume. But it was different from the rest of the amps out there, that's for sure. It had a 10 and a 12.

Were Gibson amps ever considered anything special?

When I lived in Seattle during the 60's, the guitar teacher i was taking lessons from Had a Gibson amp that sounded fantastic to me. She was also playing a dot neck 335 thru it which may have had a lot to do with it.
