The Royal Aces in Denver have been fortunate enough to secure several outdoor, safely-distanced gigs during this difficult Covid time. We have done a few rooftop gigs (most recent shown below - we slipped our masks off for the photo), along with a series of upcoming block party events held in a large area outside of a fine Denver restaurant/bar (the Vesper Lounge), on August 27, Sept 10, 24th, and Oct 1.

The Aquatudes are fortunate to have played a couple of oudoor gigs this month.
An event tent at a golf course restaurant:
And the loading platform of a cool trolley museum:
Nothing else on the horizon at this moment ...

I wish there were live music opportunities going on in my area but wishing ain't going to get it done. I miss playing out and I also really miss going out to see other bands play. My duo partner and I had an ongoing car show gig happening before this pandemic hit us but that has been canceled long ago. We did our last one in February. At that time I thought that we'd certainly be back in business by the end of June or July but that didn't happen.
Even if they were to start up again, and even though car shows are outdoors, I'd have to think hard about agreeing to play, as much as I'd want to. Both of us are in the highly vulnerable category and the fun factor doesn't offset the risk factor, for me at least. As much as we'd do all that we could to protect ourselves, there's no control over what other people do in crowds, small or larger.
For now, I'm personally holding out for better times to come - just no way of knowing when that will be. Likely not for the rest of 2020 at least.
For those of you who are able to gig, more power to you. If you can do so safely, go for it! Just don't ignore your safety and the safety of your family and those around you. From what I see where I live, far too many people are not taking things as seriously as they should. This will all pass.
Be safe everybody!

That park looks like an excellent setting for a surf band!

The sound that reverberates out of the skate bowl is really good too.
