Permalink Need help finding Coconut Wired in 2020

New Topic

Not sure where else to post this in the forums. After spending the last few days googling and not finding anything I come here for help.

Has anyone have a link or know where to look for the Coconut Wired Podcast?
Its not on apple podcast anymore, the website cocnutwired.com is dead and I found old post from the user Chongolio on this site but the last time he logged in was around 2007. Anyone know if the original creator has a new website today?

In my own files I found episodes 1-6, but post on here seem to be talking about episode 13 or 14 so Im missing a few. Im just trying to find out what happened to monkeypod and chongolio.

Thanks for the help

I cannot help you, but in the 70s in Hawaii my dad used to drive me to Summer School at Punahou. (From Kailua.) We’d listen to the oldies station and they had news updates with a jingle that sung out “On the Coconut Wireless” before they said the news. I always liked that.

Would suggest checking https://web.archive.org/ and plugging in that URL - may yield some clues.

Hi garbo91,

Chongolio has gone through a lot since the ‘ole Coconut Wired days. He moved to Hawaii for years and has lately been living off the grid as a wandering motorcyclist.

He still sends out email blog updates and has settled for a while again in Northern Californa.

He sells his art here: https://www.redbubble.com/people/chongolio/shop and can be reached via email at chongolio@gmail.com

Insect Surfers
The Tikiyaki Orchestra
The Scimitars
Lords Of Atlantis
Fiberglass Jungle - Surf Radio

Well I got a response from Chongolio himself with link to all the episodes. he gave me permission to share the link here:

_Aloha,
Well... Monkeypod and the gang disappeared into internet infamy back when the world wide web was still wonderful.

They all now live quiet analog lives in peace and quiet on remote outer islands. There they enjoy surfing, fishing and playing acoustic renditions of classic surf songs.

Monkey pod has gotten quite good on the cigar box guitar he made from things he found washed up on the beach.

The Men In Grey saw their regime crumble and fall after the great enlightenment. A time when people finally woke up and fought back against the corporate coalitions.

Yet some loyalist remain clustered in small terrorist cells waiting for the opportunity to resurface.

I am doing the reclusive Last Jedi thing and have renounced most social media, but still post occasional videos of my travels and projects on Youtube.

I still listen to Surf music but have not stayed current with new bands or Tiki events and gatherings.

After living in Hawaii for ten years, I no longer felt I needed to “pretend” to live there. However, I still do love a good tiki bar!

A total of 13 Coconut Wired episodes were produced. I have uploaded them all as a zip file for you to download here:_

I go start a different thread with the link in it as well
