I see someone started a thread for surf playlists on Spotify, a great idea, I hope everyone contributes to it. I love spotify, for me a real game changer. Allowing me to reclaim some much needed real estate from my old CD cabinet.
I didn't want to detract from that thread, but I did want to share this playlist with anyone interested. It's mostly (95%) instrumental guitar tunes from the 60's/70's. Though the 70's in South America still sounds a lot like the 60's
These are basically surf(y) guitar mixed in with latin rhythms. There's some primitive sounding stuff on here, but also some masterful playing well above the level of most of what we listen to. Highly listenable, and of course danceable. Take some time to explore, you may find a whole new world opened up to you...
