Holy shit! Just stumbled on to an crazy sub sub genre which consists of black metal songs being covered in a surf style. Kinda like atmospheric and super dark, soul-speaking (for me anyway) cathartic shit. Anyone heard of this?!
There’s a handful of videos with fake band names. Seems the main movement was about three or four years ago. Wow whatta woild!
Sounds like it should be my dream come true but personally the ones on YT don’t do much for me. I can think of other black metal songs that would be insanely cool as surf covers. Naturally I am slightly repulsed by the fact that it’s an all-covers sub sub genre.

EDIT: It looks like it’s not a genre but just one album. All the videos are songs from that album. Still pretty cool though.
