I was looking for an easy to use multi-effects pedal and some kind of PC/Mac interface. The reviews and pricing caught my eyes and ears, for instance the PE100 pocket size/desktop model (40GBP) and the GE100 floor pedal with roughly the same software engine with a few extras (60GBP). I bought the GE150 (150GBP) because it is also an interface and able to run standard IR's (Impulse Response) IR's can be very accurate in the right hands of creation and a 6G15 IR is already available although I haven't tried it myself due to waiting for a Mooer OTG cable import. OTG stands for on-the-go, it looks like a phone cable but wired differently.
The GE150 patches are squarely focused at heavy metal players, you'll find some perfectionist moaners in the comments sections on YouTube however those who buy the 3rd party loadable patches seem happy enough. For sure there's enough parameters to dial your own sound and the GE150 can play direct to P.A. without an amp with addition of radio ear buds.

I'm a big fan of pedals that are able to emulate surf sounds without mic'ing tube heads and cabinets. I used a Zoom multi-effects pedal along with a Surfybear reverb for all the videos on my YouTube channel. I'll look into the Mooer, thanks.

I have a Zoom MS-100BT which is amazing but way to complicated for me hence the need get something easier to use. I forgot to mention it has two USB sockets, one for firmware updates and the editing software, great for home users with bad backs plus the extra OTG USB for recording to phones/PC-Mac. It has an 80 second looper, rudimentary drum machine with 40 styles and a bass emulation which tracks very fast.

The Mooer looks like a lot of possibility to me.
Loadable IR's is a really helpful aspect.
I use an Atomic Ampli-Firebox for touring (not lately of course) and am now finding that I like it more than most of my actual amps mic'd. Even for recording.
It came with some nice IR's but when I downloaded a few of the Celestion IR's the unit really came to life and sounded more realistic.
My take on any of these effects units or simulators is that most can sound really good....when paired with the right user, someone who "gets" the unit and it's possibilities.
I think it's a great age to be a guitar player. So many great ways to create good sounds, not to mention speeding up creative work flow.

Oh and...one more thing.
I've found most second and third party IR's to be fairly to very accurate as far as what you'd expect the speaker to sound like but it also helps to use your ears, not your eyes.
The IR that might work best in your simulator for Surf, to you, could end up being something you'd least suspect, brand or model wise.

I think I understand your last sentence. I've only used a couple of free IR reverbs in Reaper to test check what it's all about. I've heard they can be CPU intensive so It'll be interesting to try several simultaneously on the Mooer. Here's the IR 6G15 I mentioned, mind you It sounds like they ran a whole record through it!

Ah,I was only referring to Impulse Responses in regards to speakers not effects.
The only experience I have is with IR's as speaker emulation.
