Hi guys, once again thanks for your comments and support. I have superb news!
After 6 days with all kind of rumors and reports, we finally got wiser yesterday when we finally got some real and soild news. The basement we were in didn’t burn but there had - of course - been a lot of water and foam pouring down during the fire-fighting. And now 1-2 cm of water where still standing in areas plus carpets and stuff started to show nasty signs of mould. And the air was reported thick and very humid.
That report gave us a lot of hope and we started to push the authorities to get their work done so we could get some access to our rehearsal rooms as time now was our worst enemy. We got the permission this evening and only found water damage in our room. No fire damage! We took all the important stuff up in the air and pretty much realized that most of the gear seemed A-OK. I can tell you that I haven’t seen so many usually grumpy musicians look so happy as I did tonight :-). Maybe 30-40 of us. I can’t believe a massive fire like this burned up the ground floor just above our room and then travelled around the building and totally took out the roof and upper floors and we ‘only’ got water.
I have spend the evening drying and cleaning my stuff. In a few days I’ll test everything but I’m now quite sure we are just talking minor repairs if any. And I’m going to buy new gig-bags which I just threw out.
It’s important to me/us that you get in touch if you feel like you supported/bought more than usual due to the message we posted Saturday!
Thanks again,
Lars
