Just to confuse the gender roll arguments... The Fender Jazz Strat. Probably more Jazz than Strat, imo.

^^^ beauty there.
Hey, I didn't know Fender was doing another round of these. It's a good thing I don't have the disposable income to impulse buy whatever strikes my fancy because I am one of those with a penchant for the weird. I'd probably buy one. Remember some folks thought these were an internet prank until the official announcement and actual photos emerged. Believe it or not, I want the Maverick Dorado!

Seems to me the obvious name would be "jazz-caster", just sayin'.

This lock down thingy has got to stop!
Else who knows what kind of abominations will be offered by guitar manufacturers.
What next? A 6120 Nashville Strat-Paul?

The insanity has reached epidemic proportions....Fender just announced no more Ash guitars because of get this ...."Climate Change" (lol) in addition to pandering to the whiny, hand-wringing zealots who support the CITES Treaty's disastrous, industry stifling "ban" on rosewood (soon we'll overturn THAT ridiculous policy).
What has become of our nation's manufacturers (no doubt too much "soy")? This competition to demonstrate the level of corporate "wokeness" is not only sickening but injurious to consumers and shareholders.

They probably call it the Jazz Strat to be consistent with their other parallel model, the Jazz Tele.
I like quirky, Frankenstein-monster build guitars when done right (opinions vary, of course). Years ago, I made a Jazzmaster Tele hybrid very much like the Jazz Tele, which I've since put back to stock as I went on to acquire an actual Jazzmaster. I do have some Strats that I love, but this beastie seems just different enough to appeal to me.
I honestly like the Jazz Strat because, to me, it's stylishy quirky and sounds kind of awesome. Check out the video and give it a listen. Specs-wise, it has a lot of my preferences (neck size, color, bridge, etc.).
I like when Fender tries to do something a little different outside of their comfort zone. I loved the whole idea of the Fender Vaporizer amps but after trying one out, it just wasn't the amp for me, tonally. Looks-wise, I still think they are very quirky cool.

I think it looks OK, kind of like a Japanese/Teisco strat knock off.

I'd prefer a real jazzmaster but I think the Jazz strat is doable. The pinstriped pick guard is pretty cool.

I happen to be a non-purist who likes the feel 'n weight of the Strat body and the sound of the Jazzmaster pickups... So, this guitar appeals to me A LOT... but NOT with the associated AUD3999 (USD2600 equivalent) price tag.
Back to my project to modify one of my 'Standard' strats to take the Jazzmaster pickups... include some custom volume/tone controls and a custom pickguard ... and I'll make-do with a standard Strat trem... and still have enough $$$ remaining for a 2 week somewhat luxurious holiday in tropical Queensland someplace...

Frank, I love that build, cool combination of a Mustang and a Jazzmaster! Are those two roller knobs instead of the typical volume and tone knobs? What pot values did he decide on?

I like the looks of this Jazz Strat, more than a Jazzmaster, actually.
I have a Squier Jazzmaster that plays and sounds great, but I don’t play it and was planning to sell it. I might buy a non-routed alder Strat-style body and sacrifice the Squier.
We’ll see.
— If I'd stop buying old guitars to fix, I might actually learn to play.
