I'm really looking forward to this Sunday's show at the pier - heading down to SoCal from Oakland in a few hours.

Oh man, I was off-line all weekend and didn't see your post until today, Jeff. Hey, I do remember seeing you - would've spoken up if I knew. I was the big guy in the blue t-shirt and glasses hanging out on the concrete bench in front of the sound tent most of the day.
What an awesome time and a great scene it was at the pier on Sunday! Many thanks to all who were involved in putting on this show. I can't imagine a better setting to listen to surf music. I really enjoyed all of the bands I saw and heard that day. In particular, Outer Wave and The Eliminators - as I've never seen either before and love the traditional stuff. When I saw the blonde Showman amps coming out for their sets, I new I was in for a real treat.
I dropped a good chunk of change at the Surf Museum - some great deals on posters in there for me and my friends back home. And the women who run the place are just great.
Thanks also to Dario, who personally delivered one of his killer reverb units to me during the show. It doesn't get much better than that for accepting delivery of a new reverb unit - wow! Great guy, too.
I had such a nice time this weekend, I'll definitely plan on making it down to SoCal at least once or twice a year for the pier shows from now on. Heck, maybe I'll just move down there and come every week.

and yeah it would be cool to have more surf fans actually move here.
There are millions of people in So. Cal. that don't have a friggin' clue as to what surf music is.

here is the info for bands and times for this Sat the 15th, and Sun. the 16th
on PCH and Main St. in Huntington Beach
Sat. Sept 15th from 11am to 7pm at the corner of PCH and Main Street , The Relix, Soundwaves, Hot Plankton and ending with Billy Blastoff and the Surf Rockets.
Sun. Sept 16th from 11am to 7pm at PCH and Main Street. The Marauders, Chum...with their "Downtown Beach" CD release party, Outer Wave and at five-thirty we have Reventlos...

I'm not sure about the Saturday event. It almost slipped my mind, but I have a work event that day at 5pm. I'll probably just see you at the Purple Orchid later.
I will definitely shoot for Sunday though!
