I’m traveling from Austin, TX to Belgium and the Netherlands in February to play with Jolie and The Jackalopes, a rockabilly band. Sadly, I arrive on the 11th so I’ll miss this awesome show. I would love to connect with my fellow Surf brethren in the area while I’m there. I had no idea the scene was so strong there, that’s awesome! Please DM me about any shows going on or whatever else you’d like I would really appreciate it! Shaan Shirazi |

I just booked a hotel room! Train ticket is next on the list... Will there be a pre-show at Sounds record shop again? Looking forward to return to Venlo! —Los Apollos - cinematic surf music trio (Berlin) |

Great Simon, looking forward to see you again! No Sounds shows planned (yet). It is always pretty much hard work logistically to put the Sounds pre-shows on the rail. Plus we need an extra, third, backline! But I will post it here if we decide to do it again —www.alohasluts.com |

If you are looking for a hotel here are some suggestions: Hotel Puur is the closest and cheapest option, it is only a 3 min walk from the venue. (https://www.hotelpuur.nl) international guest can book through booking.com Another option is Hotel Wilhelmina, opposite of the trainstation and about 10 minutes walk from the venue. Venlo also has a lot of small B&B's, most can be found through booking.com. Another option is through AirBnB. —www.alohasluts.com |

One remark concerning the hotels and B&B's: If you book your rooms with booking.com you will be required to have a credit card for identification (though not necessarily for payment). The American Hotel & Brasserie, which is one of the more affordable hotels, also offers rooms through their own website without the need for a credit card: Los Apollos - cinematic surf music trio (Berlin) |

Hotel American is a good budget choice too. The only problem is that they are building a new hotel next door, so you can't use their parking. This is OK if you arive by train, otherwise I would advice a hotel with private parking. Parking fees in Venlo are rather expensive! —www.alohasluts.com |

And here is me self and my co-fellons, raging through a Link Wray song, doing a little Hendrix riff and still keeping my punk attitude.... ehm... We were scared shitless! 3rd gig with this line up! Maybe not everybody's cup of tea, since the Surfy Bear and other reverb pedals were off on this song, but the Reuss RiteOne fuzz was on! (endorsed by Tremolo Beer Gut!)..... Video was shot by my good friend Bernard Martens (dr. Maberi) Update february 28: I put a new version online with new audio (8-track mix). —www.alohasluts.com Last edited: Feb 28, 2020 11:06:10 |

It was a blast Arny. Thanks! Moving the merch/barber downstairs was a smart move IMO. And I liked the new Sluts. When will the tickets for edition 5 go on sale? ;P —Surfin’ Europe – Surf gigs in Europe |
