Permalink The Madeira gets its own comic!

Please forgive the self-promotion, but completely unexpectedly we got our own Indy Barfly comic (which has been documenting the local music scene for many years) and we think it's pretty freakin' cool! (It comes from Sam Ash Music, no less!) I posted it in the show announcement forum, but thought it might be of broader interest, too. (And yes, we know our name is misspelled in the middle, but it was too late to change it. Happens often, anyway! Not a big deal.)

Hi Ivan, That is pretty freakin' awesome!! Rock I hope it brings a lot of welcomed attention to you, The Madeira, and surf music in general. Maybe someday our favorite music won't be such an obscure niche. I can't wait to see you and The Madeira at the Southern Surf Stompfest in September!

With all the SG101 regulars that are planning to come, it's going to be EPIC!

They really caught you guys in simple comic form--that is cool. Congrats for the recognition!

Super heroes of Surf! Darn right you should have a comic!

Too cool!

That's so awesome! Congratulations to the entire crew —

Hi, I'm Gellert, guitarist for The Fintastics.

So COOOL! I am a massive comics guy, but nothing superhero (except The Boys and Astro City).

This comic triggered a memory of reading an interview with a celebrity who said when Mad Magazine spoofed his show, THAT’S when he finally felt like he’s “made it!”

The Wedding Present has a brilliant comic series called Tales From The Wedding Present that “comic-izes” stories from the band’s colorful past.

Yay comics. Yay both spellings!

Not to steal Ivan's thunder or anything (as if that's possible) but this seems like an opportunity to dig out this old chestnut from early days of my band....

That's pretty neat Ivan. Have a great show.

This thread talking about comics reminded me of The Pentrators comic books from years ago. Read about them and view the comic books here.
