It's been like a lot of surf bands doing a recess righn now. Few days ago I messaged Klas about The Surfites and he said that they haven't been doing anything with the Surfites for the last few years.

R.E.M. Michael Stipe and Mike Mills were on the Andrew Marr Show last Sunday(politics). They said they were happy in their retirement, sometimes when they see live bands they get the urge but the thought of touring soon brings them back to earth. Just a soundbite - Nothing much to do with The Bambi Molesters.
The Bambi Molesters success has always been against the odds, if they have had one piece outstanding luck then that would be finding each other in the first place I think. The rest must be down to their talent. I wouldn't bet against them producing another great album one day. Fingers crossed.

I hope it's not personal. Smells like it. Hard enough on the creative side, keeping a working relationship like that for so many years always looks to me like an incredible feat.

Bambi Molesters, you know that you're beloved. Still no.1 for a lot of folks here. Thank you for all the great records, each one a shining masterpiece.

I can agree with everything Ivan said except that creativity diminishes as one gets older. I think that it is more question of experience vs. naivety meaning that as you get more experienced you loose some naivety + you want to do something that it is not just a copy of your previous work. So yes, it takes more time probably because of instrumental genre itself. Every time we go to the studio we want to be sure that new material is better or different than previous one. So I guess we have our own standards when it comes to this although people still can have their own favorites. Anyway, we are still pretty much active and when time comes, hopefully next year, we will have some new songs to share (for better or worse:)) Most of us have regular jobs and we all have families so it is not that we have too much time in our hands (Ivan explained that very well). One of the problems is that because of our jobs we can't do longer tours or better said - tours need to be planned well in advance. Also, we no longer have booking agent for Europe. Anyone that can help us book shows is welcome...That way we could better promote our future releases.

Interesting juxtaposition of REM and The Bambi Molesters; seeing as they supported REM on Balkan tours. So quite relevant!

Thought it might be a point of interest. They were in London to promote their 25th anniversary reissue of their landmark Out Of Time album.
