In late October of "06" I drove from Rapid City, South Dakota to Las Vegas (about 1200 miles) for a one night only Ventures concert at The Cannery resort/casino. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. SFJ.

after school ended I squatted in Connecticut for an extra week instead of going home to New Orleans because Dick Dale was playing. The casino where he was playing was an hour away, I showed them my ID and they say it's expired. Louisiana IDs sometimes have a sticker on the back that extends the expiration date, but the ink on mine had rubbed clean off. They sent me back home, no rock and roll to be had. — |

I've driven to Chicago many times. 5 hours one way. Driven to Indianapolis many, many times, 7-8 hours one way. Flown to the West Coast to see The Surf Coasters, Pollo del Mar, The Sub-Mersians, and The Hypnotic IV. Flown to Seattle and drove from there to Portland to see Satan's Pilgrims. I have only seen one show this year. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

If I get to the drive invasion, it will have to be on Monday as The Surge! is supposed to play for two private pool parties on that Saturday and Sunday. If ya come down, bring plenty of mosquito repellent. When the sun goes down over there the bugs get hungry!!! Reverbs, Ed To stay legal on this thread, I just drove to Denver to catch the Beloved Invaders and jam with the Aquasonics! (Ok, ok, I was headed there for vacation anyway) But hanging out with those guys was well worth the drive. I'm working on SoniChris to join us for Surf Fest '08! —Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps? |

Personally I have never driven far to see a surf band, but I was very impressed that a group of people flew in from europe to see our reunion show last new years. —Happiness is being a surf musician that actually surfs. Ride Lord Hunt Surfboards!!! |

I drove my full-race Ford Fiesta 125 miles to Portland to see the Verbtones and meet Unsteady Freddie. Got plastered on Wild Turkey 101 and ended up sleeping in the back of the Fiesta on a side street. Good Times. |
