So there I am, in the music room. My daughter (you know the one) is practicing her piano. I'm gently noodling a version of Penetration on an unplugged telecaster.

Suddenly, she says, "I've got it!" And starts playing Penetration on the piano. Only the melody, but correctly. Then I show her the descending lick.

Maybe the lesson aren't a waste of money...

Excellent! A magic moment, I'm sure. Thanks for sharing.

Sort of reminds me when my son and his teenage punk band wanted to "use the stacks" (my large amplifiers) for their first gig. Of course, I said "OK".

When the air from the 2x15 bass cabinet first hit him in the back, I knew he was hooked. He later asked me to show him "Pipeline" and "Penetration". So now we play a lot of "the tunes" together.
