Movie Star Trash (Curitiba Brazil)

https://www.facebook.com/moviestartrash/

Influences
Surf Music, Rock, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Punk, B-movies, 50´s and 70's, Trash Movies, Sci-fi Movies, Spy Movies

Biography (Translated)

Traveling through the sea depths, in the spatial immensity, and among the most terrifying earthly creatures the Curitiba MOVIE STAR TRASH began its journey in 2012 propagating the instrumental Surf Music, with virtuous guitar riffs performed by David Dornellas, in the grave of the bass by Nei Rodrixx (eggs Presley) and on drums with Ademir Wisbeck (eggs Presley). Early in the rehearsals and experiments, there was his first alteration in the formation, Ademir goes out and enters Matheus Moro on the drumsticks, and thus remains until today.

The Trio has its base in the 90 's surf music but it is clear the influence of various strands of rock and even regional music. Formed by great admirers of literature and cinema, the band seeks its theme in fictional stories and films ranging from Western to Sci-Fi.

"Rockin' It Since 1961:

Joey G and His Showmen deliver "Decade Correct", Original Surf - West Coast Sound and 50's and 60's Rock and Roll, like none other. They hit Beechwood Studios in downtown Riverside California and laid down some very special tracks for the ages. Joey G, a former Dick Dale, Del-tone, bands maestro and musical director is responsible for the look, feel and overall band performance. The total delivery including driving the Showmen's huge authentic west coast sound - find people of all ages, compelled to get up and dance to, just sit in awe, reminisce or stand up and stamp their feet. The genuine, powerful and unique sound The Showmen generate roots to the original fifties and sixties gear they've preserved and play. They prove that gear matters and helps deliver their perfect sound, every time! Sit back and enjoy a highlight of music you won't soon hear replicated nor a sound you won't soon forget. Let The Showmen know what you think!"

"Austin's Heaviest Surf - Bat City Surfers come from a world where man-kind evolved from bats and, after joining forces to create the ultimate surf-punk experience, they accidentally transported themselves into this dimension during a recording experiment gone horribly wrong! Uhhh, actually they got a whole lot just right! Bat City Surfers take on macabre personas with their instrumental horror surf (they wanted to incorporate the horror and the fact that Austin is known as the Bat City). The music on “Fear of A Bat Planet” is akin to surf-punk, a sub-genre that emerged in the ‘80s after surf music became popularized in the late ‘50s. There are no (lengthy) vocals to get caught up in, just good old instrumental wildness."

Messer Chups (Saint Petersburg, Russia)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messer_Chups

Biography (From Facebook page)

"While Messer Chups' mostly instrumental sound is hard to neatly categorize, it’s safe to say that it would be embraced by fans of rockabilly, horror punk, vintage surf records, Italian slasher films, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, Pulp Fiction, lounge music, The Theremin, The Cramps, and the theme song from The Munsters. Their catchy music combines surf, vintage Russian melodies, rare film samples from the 50s and 60s, scratchy historical recordings, and lounge loops. Live, they explode with garage-punk intensity, all played against a video-collage backdrop of mid-century trashy cult and horror movie clips featuring Russ Meyer and Ed Wood, and superstars like Vampira and Bela Lugosi in a zombie mash-up."

The Seatopians (Boise Idaho, USA)

Hope this is the right band - seem to be two bands with the same name - that happens a lot. Shout out if its wrong, will change it.

https://www.facebook.com/theseatopians

https://theseatopians.bandcamp.com/album/the-lost-demos

From link below

"It would be a pretty far cry to associate southern Idaho with the sounds of the surf, unless, of course, you're thinking of The Seatopians. Though local music blog Music Monday spins an exciting tale of the band's ascent from an underwater colony to join "the surface nation," we're fairly sure these talented musicians have been earth-dwellers all along, just with a taste in tunes that runs more towards '60s California surfer dude than fiddle-plucking mountain dweller. The instrumental three-piece features guitarist John Lucas, drummer Seth Hoffman and bassist Hayden McCandless often bracketed by a screen beaming low-budget movie clips. As the band puts it: "Come for the pounding rhythms, sexy riffs and walls of reverb; stay for the sci-fi B-movie references."

https://thespacecossacks.bandcamp.com/

https://www.discogs.com/artist/984508-The-Space-Cossacks

Biography (From Facebook page)

"The Space Cossacks were Washington, DC's premier all-instrumental surf combo from 1996 until 2000. We released two full-length CDs (both on MuSick Recordings), 1998's "Interstellar Stomp" and 2000's "Tsar Wars," three split vinyl EPs, and a bunch of compilation-only tracks (including tributes to the Ventures, the Shadows and Link Wray). A retrospective compilation CD "Never Mind the Bolsheviks" was released in 2005 on MuSick Recordings. We also played and toured everywhere from Boston to Atlanta to Seattle to Huntington Beach, CA and many points in between, before the band broke up in 2000. We got a lot of critical and fan acclaim and were recognized as one of the top surf/instro acts of the nineties surf music revival. Thank you to those of you who supported our band through our four years together. We had a wonderful time, and made many memories, as well as much music of which we are very proud."

Biography (From Facebook page)

"Canada's East Coast instro-nuts, URBAN SURF KINGS, play surf music, 1960’s style. Think the beach blasts of Dick Dale, the leather jacket rumble of Link Wray, and the biker fuzz of B-movie heroes Davie Allan & the Arrows.

The 18 year old trio features Rev Hank on surf guitar, Crash Flagg on surf bass, and Inky on traps. They are officially the longest running surf band in Canada!

URBAN SURF KINGS have 11 releases to date, including their April 2009 seven-inch ep, Ski School. The band has just released Retro-Sonic!, a "greatest hits" full length. All of their previous CDs & 45s have charted on campus/community radio across Canada, and the US.

With a fan base that extends around the world (including North & South America, Europe, Asia & Australia), Urban Surf Kings may be the busiest surf band in Canada."

When talking about instrumental surf music in Mexico, you should know about Los Oxidados. After a legacy of more than 20 years from a growing surf music scene in this
country, they are the best representatives in this modern era.

After 14 years of surfing, Los Oxidados have played in several stages including:

• Tours around the Mexican Republic
• The Great Lakes Surf Battle (Toronto, Canada)
• NXNE Festival (Sharing stage with The National, Ludacris and Social Distortion among others)
• Backing band of Lorenzo Surfer Joe on his Mexican tour
• Look Out! Here We Go! European tour (June 2016) including Surfer Joe Summer Festival (Livorno, Italy)

Los Oxidados’ music is an energetic mix of surf music with a touch of exotica, psychedellia and Mexico City’s dirty sounds. "

Biography (From Facebook page)

" Crazy Aces is a band created to celebrate the excitement and joy of making instrumental music with a 60's psycho surf, eleki, twang fuzz informed sound.

Crazy Aces donned their tin foil hats, tuned into the spirit of Link Wray through a Japanese “eleki” radio station and received the message to start a new band using the ancient devices of tremolo, reverb, fuzz and twang to bring joy, happiness and fun to audiences as far reaching as their spaceship would carry them.

As spaceships are difficult to build and maintain, the band has remained in Nashville and has just finished their first record Crazy Aces Greatest Hits Volume 2. "

Biography (From Facebook page)

" Chattanooga TN's anti-heroes, Genki Genki Panic revel in reverb soaked instrumentals that reference the macabre with sardonic winks and nudges, and complex, inventive instrumentation. Their songs bridge the gap between the 80's surf punk of bands like Dead Kennedys and Agent Orange, classic 60's surf instrumentals of the Ventures and Dick Dale, and the metallic intensity of bands like Fantomas, Bad Brains, and Jesus Lizard. With a stage show that has been descibed as Gwar meets the Munsters, Genki Genki Panic has amassed an impressive following in their 2 1/2 year history, sharing the stage with such bands as The Messer Chups, The Independents, Peelander Z, The Queers, King Pelican, The Aqualads, and Daikaiju. Insect Surfers (Los Angeles California, USA)

https://www.facebook.com/InsectSurfers

insectsurfers.com/

https://insectsurfers.bandcamp.com/

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insect_Surfers

Biography

" INSECT SURFERS were originally formed in the summer of '79 in Washington, D.C., after guitarist David Arnson envisioned a new Surf Band for the modern era that combined elements of psychedelic rock, 60s instrumentals, and punk rock energy. Touring the U.S. extensively, they released several independent LPs and singles that placed as high as #25 on the national college radio charts, and solidified them as one of the most unique bands of the late 70s/early 80s East Coast scene. It wasn't unusual to see Insect Surfers play on the same stages as Iggy Pop, The Stranglers, Psychedelic Furs, Joan Jett, Echo and the Bunnymen, Revillos, etc.

After moving to Los Angeles in 1985, founding member David Arnson regrouped the band with guitarist/sax player Dan "Dano" Sullivan and debuted at KXLU's "Surf Day" in June 1986. INSECT SURFERS went on to be featured on bills with such artists as Chris Isaak, B-52's, Jonathan Richman, Pylon, The Ventures, Dick Dale, Link Wray, The Surfaris, and many more. Throughout the years, the band has released 3 critically acclaimed CDs on the Marlin Records label: Reverb Sun (1991), Death Valley Coastline (1996), and Mojave Reef (2003), as well as appearing on over 25 important compilation releases and numerous movie, television and DVD soundtracks.

In 2012, a new chapter in the progression and evolution of the band was opened with the addition of guitarist extraordinaire Michael Abraham, known internationally for his work with jazz violinist Mads Tolling, Donovan, and the touring productions of Wicked and American Idiot. With bassist Jonpaul Balak, who'd become a key member of the band since 2008, holding strong, and the return of Death Valley Coastline-era drummer Jeff Utterback, the group experienced a revitalization that has propelled them well into 2013 with the new album Infra Green, and their first European tour with headlining shows across Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium and The Netherlands.

Far from being a nostalgia act, INSECT SURFERS play guitar-fueled instrumental rock for tomorrow - today! The 50's and 60's stylings of such artists as Link Wray and Dick Dale are filtered through psychedelia, punk rock and soundtrack themes to produce a unique, invigorating and danceable blend. "Jetstream propulsion, dual lead twang", "The Clash meets the Ventures", "Psychedelic Rangers", "Traditional yet progressive", are all taken from reviewers' descriptions.

So...Submerge, hang twelve, and immerse yourself in the surfadelic sounds of INSECT SURFERS. "

^ No problem Revmike Thanks. Smile

Yeah I never knew there were that many surf instrumental albums out there and I only have 5 percent of the bands on here so far - right now that's about 200 albums or about 2000 songs from all the bands listed on here. That is a incredible amount of material for a genre that is considered not mainstream in a big way. The problem I like all the songs on here, how will I find the time to listen. Yes
