Best 12” speaker for Deluxe Reverb?

Hello all, I have an Allen Encore 2x10 that I’m going to convert to a 1x12. With 6V6’s it runs at 22 watts and will essentially be a DR with some extra features. I play a Jazzmaster and my band mostly does 2nd and 3rd wave surf covers. Any suggestion are welcome. I was thinking a ceramic eminence legend but really am open to other ideas. Thanks!

I have a Warehouse G12C in mine and it sounds great, punchy bass and sparkling highs.

My DRRI has a Weber Neomag with aluminum dust cap and cloth surround. It's the closest I could come to that JBL sound without paying an exorbitant amount for a questionable vintage JBL.

Assuming you want classic American tone and not British from the Deluxe Reverb. These would be my suggestions.

I have a Weber California Ceramic with paper dome in mine and love it. It will give you a very JBL sound which, I think, is what you want for surf.

Just to add some info to my question above: The reason I asked is because there are speakers that can do both fairly well. I use a Weber Signature ceramic in my Princeton Reverb and it sounds great and is not extremely loud. That same amp with a Weber vintage series (10F150 etc) is wicked loud! Too loud to crank up a bit at clubs here in Honolulu... so depending on where you gig you may need one or the other.

I've had good experiences with most of the previous suggestions and will add the Celestion Cream Alnico.
A wonderful sounding speaker in a Deluxe style amp.

I'm with Jeff on the Clestions for DR's. I had a Greenback in mine for years. It did well with my LP and smoothed out the bite of the JM. Not to mention it tightened up the bass like there was no tomorrow and was loud as pooh.

I heard a 1x12” tone ring cab, loaded with a Weber California, fed through a ‘64 Showman this past weekend. It sounded HUGE and sparkly. I don’t even know what else I’d ever want to hear out of any speaker. It kind of blew me away...

Thanks for all of the input. I'm really interested in the Celestion Alnico Creamback. The problem I had with the 12" Gold (and Blue) was the lack of headroom and the early breakup, but I loved the touch sensitivity. Does the Creamback Alnico really have the clean headroom AND the touch sensitivity, like I have read about? If it does, and keeps the bass tight, as advertised, it is going to be a real contender for a try-out.
