I want to thank Rob_J for providing a tweak to the banner logo. It looks very nice. Thank you!
Hope to see some more member compilation entries in January!
Happy New Year!
I thought something looked different when I logged in.
I don't know what was done, but whatever it is, it did cause me to stop and take a good look at it.
Happy New Year SG 101 !

Everyone, I'm even more behind than normal on publishing news stories and calendar events... Sorry and I think I'll be able to focus more on the site in the coming weeks. Thanks for the patience.

Hello everyone,
I'm out on vacation and I'm way behind on publishing some news stories and I'm also going to set up a Green Cookie Records Satan's Pilgrims giveaway when I get a chance.
Also is there any interest in a 2018 members' MP3 compilation?
Sorry and please bear with me.... (feels bad man)

I gotta feevah, and the only prescription is more compilation.

Hey I just spent a few days away on vacation so I'm a bit behind on posting your news items and calendar dates. Give me another day or two to dig out! Thanks!

Hi Brian - IMHO, it isn’t said enough - THANK YOU for keeping this show on the road!
My attendance has been spotty for a couple of years, but I do keep checking back in from time to time. Today has been a particularly pleasant surprise of several new bands springing up and a few ‘hiding in plain sight’ releases.
Exhibit A
Exhibit B
Gives me the idea for this suggestion: when news articles auto-create threads, can the body of the news article itself also be the first post in the spin-off thread?
I’m thinking that might help the attention and engagement vs checking and ignoring an essentially empty post.

Hi Fady,
Yes I've wanted to put the body of the article in the forum post for some time. SG101 has just been kind of on a feature freeze for some time due to some personal upheaval in my life. Everything is good now, I just have to decide if I want to try and finish the site redesign, etc. There is years of technical debt, I am behind on so many upgrades. We'll see.
Thanks for checking in, it's good to "see" you again!

TLDR: the calendar here is busted for now
A month or two ago someone submitted a gig for our calendar. This startled me because I had completely forgotten we had a calendar! No one had submitted anything during the entire pandemic! So I tried to use the usual software to add the show to the Google Calendar but it failed. Sadly Google changed something during the last year and the method I was using to add gigs to the calendar no longer works. I'll have to investigate but it looks like I just need to update some 3rd party libraries, but that can snowball out of control. And since I have 0 free time right now (getting married next month!!) it may be a bit before this gets fixed. Sorry!
