Yesterday, 6 july, I was at the Messer Chups concert in Utrecht, Netherlands. Great performance, great songs. I think there were about 90 people in the venue. Also some rockabilly types. A guest player played theremin and saxophone in some songs. If they are in town, go. — |

Wonder if it was Stephen Blickenstaff who plays Theremin (Atomic Mosquitos)? I see he did the event flyer artwork. http://tunefan.com Last edited: Jul 08, 2018 21:04:16 |

I think it's DJ Ir Vendermeulen from Amsterdam. Big record collector of old music and also plays Sax. |

Yes, I think he's Dutch. And Oleg told the crowd that they didn't rehearse, so I guess it was a one of a kind specially for this evening. — |

They played with him at the Sjock Festival Belgium and maybe one other. It looks as though they are spicing things up where possible, now they have Boris triggering samples they can play some of their older material and a guest who can play sax is a bonus. To be honest I prefer standard issue Messer Chups plus samples. |

It's just a suggestion, if Pongo would change the thread title to World Tour 2018 we could follow Messer Chups throughout within a single thread. |

They did a fine show at Sjock. Didn't realise it was Ir. on sax. Cheers, |

here are some shots I took at the Sjock Festival... Great gig by the way and DJ IR Vermeulen was a great add on! Here, last but not least, is a good impression how packed the Titty Twister tent was. The Sjock Festival has three stages; the main stage, the Titty Twister and the Bang Bang Stages, where Aloha sluts played on sunday. Man, can't tell you how proud I was to see my band's name on the same poster as MC5, Descendents, Mummies (!), Pennywise, Reverend Horton Heat and lots more! —www.alohasluts.com |

MORRISSEY and Messer Chups?! That's awesome! Love that little cartoon Morrissey. I love Morrissey by the way... The only one artist I recognize is Mazzy Star. —Daniel Deathtide |
