Just wondering if the echo and tremolo settings are available with the spring reverb? Description refers to them in conjunction with hall and plate
Unless there is a way to change it the echo and trem settings aren't the spring reverb. those settings sound good, just not surfy. I'm hoping to do a video of the other settings tomorrow.

Daaayyum that spring setting sounds perfect. Ironic that this is the one reverb pedal that they've not called the "Holy Grail".
Usually I have a "less is more" approach to gear, so I actually like that it's compact and just has four knobs, but I can understand why some would prefer it in a larger format given the amount of features this thing has under the hood.
If the plate mode is comparable to the Catalinbread Talisman, and the Dynamic mode is equal to or better than the Dynamic mode on the RV-6 I might have to get one. I doubt the trem will kick of my Surfy Bear tremolo out, but it might make down-sizing to a smaller pedalboard easier.

Thanks Big Ryan! I had no idea pedals were that sophisticated these days, pretty impressive! I noticed the Fender RI drips had a little variety, whereas the pedal's drips were all identical. And the RI unit was a little noisier, tone a little more mid-rangey. Thanks a lot for this!

I came here to see what the surf players were saying and I'm glad Ryan posted his videos.
If you are a purist, well sure. Nothing beats that warm, full-bodied Fender tube -as clearly demonstrated in Ryan's videos.
If you are not a hardcore purist, the O-11 is really great. If you play more genres, great. If you are into way out other stuff.. even better.
I have an FRV-1 and it's fine for me, but I wanted a next level reverb to add and do more -more than just plate, hall, srping. The Mooer Ocean Machine, too much and too expensive. I didn't want another Boss like the Rv-6. Hmm. I had high hope for the Fender Marine Layer and was disappointed completely. It was sitting next to the EHX Canyon which is a delay, but it was doing a lot of what I wanted. Hmm....
I was this/close to buying when the O-11 hit and wow! With that eBay coupon the other day, for $118, SOLD.
And so for surf, space, ambient, general, etc.. This is a pretty strong pedal.
Enjoy! Hey.. surf's up somewhere!

Apologies for the slight thread derail - Hey Ryan, Thanks for all the great 60 Cycle Hum videos! Your Danelectro 59X video pushed me over the edge to get an aqua 59XT (fun guitar!) as well as your recent Thomman - Harley Benton series. I think we have similar tastes in Harley Bentons as I picked up last December the TE90FLT (reverse headstock T-style with Filter'tron style pickups), a MS-60 VW Vintage Series (Mustang style), and the HB JA-60 OW (Jazzmaster style with P90s). My latest order is a couple of Gibson Les Paul styles (SC-450 P90 gold top and SC-450Plus VB Vintage Series) - bit of a back order on one or the other but hope to get them later this month or in July.
Back on topic, the EHX Oceans 11 pedal sounds pretty good! Definitely a good choice for traveling/gigging if I'm not sure I want to bring out either my '63 or '64 Fender Reverb Units...even though it was for that reason I hunted down a Boss FRV-1 a few months back.

For €92.34, not a bad little guitar! I've got big hands, so I wish the neck was a little chunkier. However, the 350mm (13.7795 inch) radius helps make it fairly comfortable. Being a big guy, I appreciate the belly cut, too.
I played the MS-60 tonight for about an hour, running through about 25 surf songs (classic and modern). After initial tuning up since I haven't played it in a while, the guitar needed re-tuning after 10 songs, which is pretty good for a low cost guitar. I do have D'Addario 11 strings on it but the nut could be replaced or some other typical tuning improvement things on it. As it is, the MS-60 did OK.
Is it gig-worthy? As it is right now, I'd say not as a primary gigging guitar but maybe after some mods, it would be a decent backup. Is it fun to play at home in its current state - sure!
The Wilkinson WVSC Live vintage style single coil pickups sounded pretty decent through my '62 Fender Bassman/'63 Fender Reverb Unit.
Is it a true Mustang clone? Maybe aethetically but not in tone to my ears (for good or bad, depending on one's opinion on Mustang pickups - I like them), but that's OK - the MS-60's tone is decent in its own way.
The beauty of a guitar like this, of course, is that if you don't care for anything stock on it, it's a great modding platform. In my case, I'll probably move it on down the road since I've modded my Squier Vintage Modified Mustang with Seymour Duncan "Myth for Mustang" pickups and other mods that make it giggable and fun.
In any case, these Harley Benton guitars are decent, fun guitars. Are they comparable to Fender guitars? I'd say no, maybe some Squier guitars but I've had some amazing quality Squiers that are far better in build quality, playability and tone. However, considering their cost, the Harley Benton guitars are fun for what they are.

Considering this for my surf-centric board. Loving the Oceans 11 spring setting, and the delay is fine for slap-back.

Wondering what those black boxes are? Plus am I right in assuming the ocean 11 comes before the rat pedal in this chain? Might try that

It's an Electra Distortion/DodBifet410 overdrive, and the last one in line is the Surfy Bear trem.
Reverb into a Rat is awful in the best way.

I've recently got the O-11 and have been wading (no pun intended) through that 11-page manual. I bought it just for the spring drip emulation and I don't have anything else to compare it with but it certainly sounds good enough for this amateur player.
It has reawakened my appreciation of surf music in general and I've been attempting to play a few of the classic tunes. I'm old enough to remember learning to play "Pipeline" through one of those old "Play Along With the Ventures" LPs.
(BTW, Vol. 1 had "Walk, Don't Run", Vol. 2 had "Pipeline" and "Wipeout" and Vol. 3 had "Diamondhead." Vol. 2 was my first ... and my favorite.)

I've had my Oceans 11 for about a month now and have used it for several rehearsals and 2 shows, and I have to say that the gap between digital simulations and the real thing is shrinking more and more.
The Oceans 11 is as close as you can get at this point.
I'll go out on a limb and say that in a band mix, most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference. That includes a lot of people on this board.
Almost all reverb pedal/tank comparisons I've come across are isolated samples. Unless your strictly a bedroom player, these comparisons only show one side of the equation. I'm more interested what these units sound like in a band mix where it becomes evident if the subtleties of the real thing are even noticeable anymore.
I have no doubt that the Oceans 11 will not be the final word in spring simulations. It may take another few years or 6 months, but eventually the simulations will catch all the way up.

I'm loving the sounds that I'm hearing from this pedal. It is too bad there are no presets to save sounds.
