First Rufus Harley played jazz on bagpipes, and now this. Rock on my Celtic brother, rock on.

Papa's Got A Brand New Bag of Pipes. According to legend, the piper played the backing instruments too, the whole lot of them. And he surfs while playing...

Kenny is awesome. He sent me a whole bunch of stuff when I featured him on stormsurgeofreverb.com. He's the best kind of nut

Someone in my neighborhood puts a lot of time into practicing bagpipes, playing outside or in their garage.
Whoever they are they are pretty good.
Maybe we need to get them on an Aces' recording

Ha Ha. An entire record/CD of Bagpipe Instros would be a bit much, even for us.

Sounds like the Shads use bagpipes in this song, even when I listen on upscale headphones. The recording sounds identical to one on their "Compact Shadows" CD so I expect they're shadowing their recording. On the CD the name is "Think Me Jig" not "thing me jig."

Anyway, bagpipes--or close to them--on a Shadows recording...(and one of their most infectious songs)...

It may sound that way, but it certainly looks like he's playing a keyboard.

I think this one by Bob Regan qualifies though.

On the Shadows recording either we are hearing bagpipes or we are hearing samples (recordings) of bagpipes provided by a keyboard. Either way, we are hearing music played by bagpipes.

funny the mention of bagpipes comes up now as i've been watching a bunch of celtica pipes rock on youtube lately along with this one from the goddesses of bagpipes. (yes, i know it's not surf but i like it still)
