Permalink D shaped stratocaster necks

New Topic

I am looking to get an American strat and I can’t seem to find any with the D neck. I looked at the Fender Custom Buid book and it’s not listed. I read that some ‘59 AVRI models have it, but then I also read that some don’t!

I realize the “narrow C” neck feels pretty similar. Also I saw a Compound Back Shape, Modern "C" to "D" neck on the Wildwood American Elite guitar here https://wildwoodguitars.com/product/US17017982/american-elite-stratocaster-22/.

Maybe I should just get a D neck put on after? Apologies if this has already been discussed!

Or just build from scratch, starting with a Warmoth neck. They have a variety of profiles available.
