A friend of mine has found an album on Toshiba TP 7147 with film music.
He cannot read the titles however.
The LP is titled: Stereo Stream Highlights.
Cover and labels can be found under the link above.
I would appreciate if someone of the Japanese members (or worldwide
SG 101 members) could translate the song titles and list it here in the forum.Neither my freind nor me are able to read Japanese, my freind even
has got no computer...
Thanks a lot in advance for your help!
Ruediger

A few suggestions. Contact your local college or university language department. Google search to see if there is a Japanese translation service in your area. Call your local Japanese temple or church. Visit a Japanese restaurant and ask the owner for help. BTW your friend should offer a financial gift to anyone willing to help. Hope this is helpful.

Happy Sunsets!

I held my iPhone with Google Translate open up to the screen, and then my battery went dead. so I'll try again later. Unfortunately the pictures are not hi-rez, so I don't think the phone will be able to see the kanji. someone else should give it a try.

Thank you so much for all your answers.
I am in the age of retirement as well as most of my friendsare 65 plus.
There is no more contact to collegues on a campus to ask for help.
38 years ago I lived in a city with many Japanese shops, some restaurants
and companies, but I moved away in 1991!!!
Maybe some of the members here weren´t even born then??
I do aprreciate all your efforts and help nevertheless.
If the information comes in it will be good,
if not it will be ok as well!

If it's that important, just get a translator to do it. Confused

Why doesn't your friend just purchase and enjoy the album. If he doesn't like it, he will be like the rest of us that have purchased an album on speculation only to toss it into a drawer.

Happy Sunsets!

He had purchased the album and likes the music.
He was just keen to know the titles of the songs.
I will tell him to drive to a large city not too far away
from where he lives and go to a Japaneses restaurant or shop
and ask the employees for a translation!
Thanks you all for your comments!

The other guitar player in my band is fluent in Japanese, I'll ask him to take a look at it.

I sent the images to an acquaintance living in Japan. She's having trouble with the low res kanji but making some progress nonetheless. Side 1 reprinted verbatim, ahem:

  1. Paramount Pictures “the (maybe?) sadness ############ from (movie of same illegible name) by Ivan (maybe?) Panda? Banda?

  2. Columbia Pictures “picnic” from “man down” by W. Hudson

  3. Fuckificanreadthistinyblurrybullshit Pictures “license to kill” (probably) from (probably) “license to kill” by Batrum???? Bertram!?! Fuckidon’tknow Chapel

  4. Unite Pictures “America fuckthesetinyletters” from “America blahblahblahblah March” by Johnny Mandel

  5. Somethingsomething Pictures “somethingsomething” from “Le gendarme de Saint-Tropez” by Raymond Lefèvre

  6. Unite Pictures (purely phonetics) “Katsuma”? From “katsuma?’s theme” by Frank Codel

Does it really have the profanity or did you just add that?
