Could you folks recommend Progressive Rock Surf bands. Bands that play odd time signatures.
Bands that remind you of Progressive Rock Bands like YES, Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Dream Theater, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson, ect...
A Progressive Surf Rock band may incorporate unusual surf rock instruments such ELP like keyboards, brass, wood winds, and such. The Progressive Surf band would play more intricate complicated compositions. Concept albums are a plus. Intricate compositions with multiple movements lasting over 7 minutes are a plus too.

Welcome to Sg101!
Try Daikaiju and also the Mermen. Also check out a compilation called Lemme take you to the beach an album of surf covers of Zappa songs.
Also need to give a shout out to Atlanta's Moonbase. Check out their album Creation Myths.

Thanks for the recs Surf Skater. I got Mermen but I haven't heard of Daikaiju or Moonbase. A friend recommended "Laika and the Cosmonauts". I'm also aware of "Secret Chiefs 3".

Surf Skater thanks for the Moonbase tip! Great googly moogly that band is great. I ordered their CD right away.
As a fan of surf and of prog rock which leans toward the more brooding and atmospheric side of things and less of the virtuosic hyper frenetic crazy stuff I add these alternative proggy surf suggestions:
Thalamos -(https://thalamos.bandcamp.com/album/-)They also recorded some earlier very Mermen esque stuff as The Tritones but I can't find a reliable link tonight.
Tristeza
Tortoise - although definitely not a surf band, the combination of kraut rock and reverby guitar melodies on Millions Now Living Will Never Die and TNT is worth checking out if you never have.

Oh duh! Cul de Sac!
Cul de Sac - Sakhalin
It's like all the ingredients for what one would imagine a surf-prog band to sound like only arranged in an unexpected way. Also more proof that I live in the 90's.

Thanks for the MOONBASE love, y’all. Hope to have a new one out here one of these days!
I’ll try to add more later but would also include Phonocaptors and Nuclear Juarez.
