I am sure this has been covered before but I was wondering have any of the efforts to get him in Rock Hall been responded to and what was the answer? has anyone actually spoken to a human being there and gotten a response.
I am assuming unlike sports halls of fame where you must have excelled in your craft, for the Rock Hall it only matters your popularity with the general public. Otherwise how would Bon Jovi be in there.

This recent thread was pretty much on the mark, and could apply to Dick Dale, many other worthy candidates.

I would imagine getting in the Rock Hall has more to do with how much money you've earned for the industry than any musical contribution. Hence why Bon Jovi is in there and Dick Dale isn't.
Dick Dale owns all his own music, so very little would be going to other record companies. Link Wray spent most of his life in Europe, so I'm not sure if any of earnings would have found their way to the USA.
Call me cynical if you want, because I am usually cynical.

I'm cynical once a day.
I'm cynical and cyclical.

I will respectfully disagree - money making isn't the prime criterion. Patti Smith was inducted ten years before Bon Jovi, and she certainly didn't sell as many records; and KISS sold a metric buttload of records but weren't inducted until 2014.
I think it has more to do with awareness on the part of the nomination committee.
