And....Thanks for all of the good vibes from this community of music people! Glad so many of you saw something positive in these tracks. Briefly overcoming my paranoia of letting unfinished stuff out was ok I guess. SG101= cool, nice people!

Sounding great Dave, thanks for sharing looking forward to hearing some more. I've always found you song writing very impressive and I'm excited there could be new material in the works.

Dave, I don't know if this applies to you but it applies to myself and some of my friends. Those of us that were kind of particular in our younger years have increased our expectations to the point that it's almost impossible to reach our goals. My machinest friend has bought a dial indicator that reads out in millionths. The industry standard for most of those is 2 ten thousandths. I have painted the same part several times trying to make it perfect. From me listening to "Into the Blue Sparkle", I see no reason to believe you are not doing the same thing. I'm not saying to lower your standards, I'm just saying how great your work is and when you reach the point of enough is enough, I'm sure we all will be very happy with the results. Best wishes.

Thanks for your very thoughtful comments! I just try to come up with things that, when I get lucky, satisfy the “theme, imagery, motion” self imposed rule, and, feel good to play physically, and to, hopefully, work on some emotional level getting it boiled down to the essentials.
Interesting comment about the dial indicator. At work we now (finally) use a contraption to preset the guitar neck bow before the neck is put onto the body. Your friends invention sounds like an amazing accomplishment.

Dave must be reconfiguring some stuff, maybe? My old links to his videos don't work, and the vids in this thread aren't available.

What a great approach. I'm writing those three words on a sticky note and placing on my studio monitor. On second thought, I might just write them directly with a sharpie.
