Eddie, welcome! I've been listening to the AVI collection of Eddie & the Showmen every day for the last week, inspired by your recent performances. It struck me yesterday that your band was probably the most non-cliched, creative and diverse surf band from the sixties California scene. Great variety of songs, with sounds ranging from absolutely raging to gentle and sensitive, all done with immense taste and wonderful musicianship. It is simply amazing. It finally dawned on me that you have greatly influenced my own songwriting and playing, in the sense of inspiring me to not just follow surf cliches. Thank you.

I'm very glad that you are here with us. I hope you will like it.

I second that. Such talent at such an early age is both inspiring and humbling. Rest assured that recognition of your talent and contribution to this genre is alive and well at SG101.

Eddie Bertrand? Wow that's pretty cool. You've been a big influence on our band and my guitar playing for sure.

Hello Eddie,

I hope you enjoy the comradery of surf guitar 101, where the spirit of surf music thrives.

Kevin

For those that have not met Eddie, not only is he a fantastic musician, he is a really warm & nice person as well as being very interesting to talk to. A true gentleman in every respect. Eddie is lucky we are not neighbors. I'd be knocking on his door, my guitar in hand, daily.

I missed this thread, I'm actually blushing right now... Embarassed

Welcome MrRebel!

HB...... I'll play guitars with you anytime.
Thanks again for all you have done.

Eddie

WOW, Cool deal! Eddie we did a show with you when you were with Get Wet at foothill college. We were the guys wearing fez's and doubleneck guitars.

Welcome to the forum!

Hi Tom.....Forgive me, but that was a day I would like to forget (laughing) was not the most rehearsed band I have ever played in. But it WAS an experience. I do remember you guys by the way.
You did a great job.

Eddie
