Hi,

My band The Miramars have uploaded some home demos onto soundcloud.
You can listen here
They are all home recordings, done on a Tascam cassette portastudio.

Also, if anyone needs a surf band to play around the UK get in touch as we are hoping to start gigging in the nee year.

Thanks
Gary

You guys have a really killer sound! Very authentically surfy feeling. All of your instrumentation and playing is just spot on. Always very appropriate and tasteful. You guys know your stuff. But not to suggest that authenticity trumps actual song content; your compositions are top notch as well. I find them quite evocative and inspiring.

It's cool that you can achieve the sound here with just a 4-track recorder, too. I mean it sounds plenty good enough for surf to my ear. How many mics did you use?

Thanks for sharing, Gary. Keep 'em coming!

Sounds great! I love that you used a cassette 4-track.

Hi, thanks for the kind words. It’s great to have such good feadback so early on.

We used 2 mics on the drums (SM58, PG81) SM58 mic on the guitar amps and the bass was plugged directly into the Tascam. Everythng was recorded in seperate takes.

Here’s a couple of pics of our set up.
