Hi, y'all.
A Brooklyn art-rock/spoken-word band called Witches in Bikinis (six women dressed as witches in bikinis, backed by a four-piece band of blokes) contacted us (Mister Neutron) about playing at the Coney Island Surf Festival on the boardwalk at Coney Island on Saturday, Aug. 11. We're totally doing it -- mostly so we can look at the witches in bikinis.
They want to know if anyone else is interested in playing. There are a few slots open.
Let me know, and I'll pass you on to the head witch.
This event is not to be confused with the Coney Island Rockabilly/Surf Festival, which takes place the following weekend. We couldn't play that one because my bro is in Indiana visiting the in-laws. Poor bro!

no pay. there might be some tips, and there's always merch sales, but that's about it. the usual -- at least around here.

hope you can make it, ironmaiden! beastie boys, huh? i've been thinkin' it might be time to check out one of their cds -- finally.
and, as for web sites for the two events, not really. these seem to be low-budget, spur-of-the-moment jobs. however, the aug. 18 rockabilly event has a myspace page:

very cool you guys are doing a surf show there. I was just at the hotdog eating championship over the holiday. I will contact my friends band from Levittown, NY. Maybe they would be interested in auditioning. They are older fellas, but they kick ass.
