Permalink 1967 Dual Showman w/2X12" Altec Lansing speakers cab

New Topic

1967 Fender Dual Showman head and 2x12" Fender Cab. Speakers are 1967 Altec Lansings, reconed by Orange County Speakers one year ago. The head was maintained for many years by Fred Taccone, the founder and owner of Divided By 13 amps. It was recently serviced by a great tech at the Guitar Shoppe in Laguna Beach.

This amp plays perfectly and has the special clean tone and volume only a Dual Showman can deliver. THE Surf Music Amp! Played by Dick Dale, Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green, and in the 1970s by Steve Howe of Yes. Jimi Hendrix owned one early model, and later a Dual. Showmans and Dual Showmans are heavily sought after by pedal steel guitar players. Local SoCal pickup. $1700.00

Hey Bruce, good luck with the sale. I've heard this amp and it sounds great. Of course, Bruce's playing has something to do with that!

Paul

I know this amp well. I originally bought it from Fred Taccone's (divided by 13) personal collection. He had 2 of them and I bought them both. One had 2x12 (this one) and the other was 2x15 cabinet. I also had a blonde showman in my collection so when I was forming the Breakaways with Bruce and Ed Riojas on guitar, they both bought the black showmans off of me. This amp has been in the surf community for over 25 years!
