Any pix or video of the Fathoms from the Asbury park surf fest?

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Just posted this in the Asbury Park thread, check there for more Vids!

Also, just wanted to say I thoroughly enjoyed their set. It was a bucket list item for me and not only did I cross that off, But as an added bonus I also got to meet one of my surf heroes, Frankie Blandino! He was an unassuming and gracious soul with a dry wit. His work with the Fathoms was singlehandedly responsible for showing me the relevance of the trad sound in the mid 90s and his songwriting is up there with the very best. I think he gave us all something to aspire to during that time. It was also a complete joy to watch him play. His fingers were like liquid on the fretboard with a very smooth delivery of intense tone! He represents the very best of what the Jazzmaster offers to twang and surf. It was a night I will never forget!

I love hearing this so much!! If forced to choose, I would say that The Fathoms might be my all-time favorite surf band, so this hits way close to home. So glad that the moment was everything it needed to be!

Excellent! Thanks for posting this Jeremy! Frankie sounds so great!
