Permalink For Sale: Fender Custom Vibrolux Reverb and matching Reverb Unit

New Topic

I am hoping to sell this as a package deal for $1300 because I think they make a really cool set. But, I will consider offers for selling items separately. I am in So Cal area and would prefer a local exchange if possible. I can provide more information and pics if anybody is interested. The amp and reverb unit are in excellent condition and work perfectly with no issues.

Amp: This is a 1995 Custom Vibrolux Reverb that was created by the Fender Custom Shop and made in USA alongside the other amps in this series...the Tonemaster, Vibroking, and Vibrosonic. This is the first year edition of this amp and the only time it was available in blonde tolex. (2) x 6L6 powered, 40 watts, 4 ohms (2 ohms with an extension cabinet). I performed most of the "Moyer Mods" (which are widely documented online and this eliminated the hiss and background noise these amps were sometimes criticized for). All of my electrical work and the materials used in the mods are professional quality. This modifies the amp to essentially the same specifications and component values as the reissue '63 Vibroverb which uses the same circuit board and electrical components. I also added an adjustable bias pot which was not standard on the Vibrolux. I can provide more details on these modifications if anybody is interested. The amp is very quiet at idle with very little hiss or noise, great headroom, lush Fender reverb, and one of the most incredible on-board tremolos I've ever heard. Loud, clean, and all the classic Fender bite and sparkle. I was using JBL's in this amp but the current speaker offered in the amp is a vintage 12" Utah/Fender that actually sounds very nice. I have a JBL K120 that I will consider selling with the amp as an upgrade for an additional $200. The amp was originally a 2x10 speaker configuration with wheat grill. I built another 2x10 grill in oxblood, and the 1x12 oxblood grill shown in the pics. All three grills are included in the sale. Tilt-back legs, footswitch, and the original cover is included.

Reverb Unit: This is a mid/late 90's reissue in my own custom pine cabinet and covered to match the amp. The unit has the original Accutronics reverb pan, a NOS RCA 6K6 power tube, and a silver mica cap in place of the stock C10. Also included is the original cabinet minus the hardware that I transferred over to the new cabinet. The original cover is included but no footswitch.

Empty Reverb Unit Cabinet. This is the original Fender cabinet to the reissue unit minus most of the hardware. It's in excellent condition but it will take you a trip to the hardware store to restore it.

Too bad we don't live closer to each other, that amp might be exactly what I am looking for. I already have a reverb unit in those exact colors. What does the amp weigh? How clean is the headroom now? Why am I asking all these questions, I live in Memphis! Laughing Seriously though, beautiful amp.

MooreLoud.com - A tribute to Dick Dale. New EP Louder Than Life available on bandcamp and website. Taking guitar lessons from Jimmy Dale.

The weight is 43 pounds with the Utah, with the JBL probably another 10 pounds more. I just tested it with nice clean headroom up to 6 and starting to break up at 7. Some of that could be the speaker...With the JBL it stays clean up to 7 and begins breaking up above that. But, by that time this thing is f***ing LOUD...I was expecting the cops to kick the door in any minute.

I sent a PM a couple of days ago about the empty reverb cabinet.
