It's a free summer event, Tunes at Noon, put on by the Downtown Businesses that books local acts to play between 12 & 1pm. I am happy to know that you get out and do shows in the hub of the Maritimes. Only been out there for a week on business near Bayers Rd about 10 yrs ago and stayed nearby to the touristy wharf place. Unfortunately, my long days at the office prevented me from getting out to see any local gigs. I went out for a brisk walk one evening around the Citadel mount (it is a national monument, after all) and my colleagues the next morning said "You went THERE at night?!?!?!?!?!?". Apparently it has a reputation that - to this day - I am not sure I understand. Perhaps it's best if I stay naïve. I had a single earbud in one ear as I was listening to my mp3 player...perhaps the folks that passed me thought I was an plainclothes officer and I was left alone. Some have held on to the old reputation for many more years than the place was actually sketchy. If it was 10 or so years ago you certainly were fine to be there. Funny how reputations can linger.
