Firstly, I DID search and read all the SW threads... an awful lot of those recommendations border on surf, with the busy snare and almost punk attitude... I've really fallen in love with the sounds of James Wilsey's El Dorado, and all of Jim Campilongos' stuff (which alot of is western SWING flavored), and am looking or more of that type of melodic, reverby/echo-y, atmospheric stuff.
I already have the Ventures and Shadows... that's more "surf" than I'm looking for, and most recommendations I've seen are more "punk" than I'm looking for... I also have Keith Scott's surf project (The Fontanas), but it's a little too pop-y for me... actually, the other soundtrack I dig is Once Upon a Time in Mexico....
Anybody have any suggestions for more melodic/moody/atmospheric SW-type music?
