The Jaguar Antiquity I pickups use Alnico 2 magnets for the pole pieces. The Jaguar Antiquity II pickups use Alnico 5 magnets for the pole pieces. The Antiquity II pickups will be a little bit brighter. Which would you prefer? I'm guessing that our colleague Jake Dobner will weigh in this, and recommend the Fender factory pickups. Good pickups, and really good pickups for the money. Do yourself a favor, and hear him out. When you get right down to it, they're all good pickups. No decision you make will be a bad one. —-Cheers, Clark- -Less Paul, more Reverb- |

Alright!, thanks a lot Clark!! YES, I'm happy with the Japanese factory pickups, just want to try the Antiquitys out and compare by myself... |

Several years ago, I wanted to replace the pickups in my MIJ Jaguar, so I installed a set of Seymour Duncan Hot Jaguar pickups. (I already have a Jaguar with Vintage output pickups. ) I wanted something different, so that's the direction I went. I'm happy with them . It so happens that I also replaced the pickups in my Strat several years ago, with a set of Seymour Duncan Antiquity II pickups, I'm very happy with them as well. The Antiquities are fine pickups. I just also wanted to mention the Fender Pure 65s, because they are also a very fine pickup, as well. And a bit less expensive than the Duncan Antiquities. —-Cheers, Clark- -Less Paul, more Reverb- Last edited: Jun 12, 2017 20:39:19 |

I put the Antiquity IIs on my custom built Jag and I love them. I listened to all the SD YouTubes and these were/are right for me! —Jonathan the Reverbivore The Reverbivores Please check out our latest album The Reverbivores Watch TV! |

Maybe? I don't know what "dime the tone control" means. Jonathan the Reverbivore The Reverbivores Please check out our latest album The Reverbivores Watch TV! |
