...but I couldn't stop laughing over this:

I saw this yesterday, showed it to my Dad.
Then he shared it on his FB page.

yah , thats a good one ....theres a whole series of 'shred' videos ...I love the Yngwie Malmsteen one best , because he's ripe for parody .

Seems an appropriate place to post this one too...

Reminds me of a thing we used to do in the Shooters Bible called "Goin' to the Maltshop", paean to mid-century mindless junk food consumption.

Squink Out!

Kevin Bacon cracks me up. Great post, thanks!

BTW-I saw Kevin and his brother a few years back at the Ramshead in Annapolis doing there own originals. They were pretty good, very passionate about original music! (which is where my heart is too)

The Elvis one is great too. Both this and the Beach Boys always gets me grinning

I have watched these shredding videos over and over again and they just keep making me laugh. An Eric Clapton one I watched years ago always made me cry with laughter. Someone does put an awful lot of time into them. Fallon and Bacon are great fer sher.

Here is a link for "Then I Kissed Her" live recorded in the Sportpalast Berlin on June 14th, 1969.
It is only 38 seconds but demonstrates that there are still countless films in the vaults of radio and tv stations.
The speaker of the tv documentation from where I got this clip said:

"Even American Superstars couldn´t fill the hall any longer".

YES I do still admire the Beach Boys when they were still a rock and roll band (that was in the 1960s!)
Rüdiger

Not surprised that the hall was not filled. By 1968 music trends had left the Beach Boys and others in the dust as society moved on. We are seeing it again today as groups that used to fill arenas are now on the casino circuit. Well known arena/stadium bands of the past play a local 500 seat venue "Coach House" and the 1,700 seat "The Grove" all the time.

Happy Sunsets!
