For those in the know, what are the features of the newer Quilter Micro Pro Mach 2 that make it way better or at least more desirable than the older Micro Pro 200? The older model can be had for easily $200 or more less than the newer model and looks like it was a great amp to begin with. In the interest of saving the difference in cost would it make sense to go with an older used 200 unit or go for the newer Mach 2? Not that it probably matters but I'm talking about the head rather than the combo. What would YOU do and why?

I had a Micro Pro 200 and now I've got a Mach 2. I'd say the three knob reverb is the most substantial difference, at least in how I use it. By the same token, $200 is most of the way towards a Strymon Flint which has better reverb and tremolo than the Quilters. Either way I don't think you can lose.

Thanks for the input Mel. I currently own and gig with a Quilter Mini 101 that I pair with a 15" speaker cab and while it is certainly usable along with pedals I run into some of the same lack of EQ that many others report on. I can dial it in to a satisfactory tone but I feel that the Micro Pro could offer more versatility. Matt Quilter sure makes it look good in his YouTube demos.

I suspect many will be glad when Quilter finally declassifies this version of the Micro 101 Jeff saw a prototype of. Not brought to market yet but seems that a welcome update of that amp will be out "sometime."

I've been using the 101 Mini head for a while and recently bought the Mach 2, I really can't decide which one I like best. At first I thought the Mini sounded a bit dark but then I was used to very bright Fenders. Lately it doesn't sound dark to me at all. The Mach 2 boost feature has more options, instead of Hot there is Cream and Crush, I really like the Cream boost which is not on the 200. I also like and use the Brown mode, also absent from the 200. The Trem on the 200 does not have a rate knob which the Mach 2 has. All minor differences really.
