I agree with Josheboy, the Duets with Tony are very good. I've notice several performers were classically trained vocalists. Lorrie Morgan is one. Sorry for the OT.

I have neutral feelings about Lady Ga-Ga, seems maybe a cut above the current pop dreck, and I didn't see her SuperBowl performance (well, a couple of short highlights), but I came across an article on FB about it, and this was in the first or second paragraph, which really cracked me up:

"She warbled her usual agglomeration of overproduced garbage; she strutted around the stage like a maimed llama wearing Beyonce’s old outfits; she appeared to commit suicide. Twice."

LMAO

she definitely marches to a different beat within her chosen genre, which is to be commended, Imo.
it's not like she's playing the same song that was written by some children in the early sixties. over.and.over.again.

I don't understand when people find it ok to ridicule someone who may be more mainstream. particularly as people who've chosen to play and appreciate something less than conventional in 2017, even though it essentially sounds the exact same way it did 50+ years ago.

Gaga is a rare talent in pop music. a breath of originality within the constraints of being a superstar for the masses. her strut and stage presence is deliberately dark (sometimes) and quirky. its not at all like she's trying to be Joe cool and coming off all wrong. she knows exactly what she's doing.

I've boycotted every 1/2 X show since it was learned that Robin Trower would never perform hits from Bridge of Sighs during one of the games. Argh I'm sure all of you feel the same. Big Grin I can't be alone on this. You do know he plays a strat right? He's a brother in arms and the king of the space blues!

Robin Trower played the Super Bowl?!?!?!?!?
Musta been too rolling stoned that weekend.
Duh

It's OK, Chipper, my post wasn't meant as a putdown - I thought I had made that clear. I know those comments weren't nice, but I simply thought they were funny. I'm sure she's heard a lot worse! For what it's worth, I think a lot of what you say above is true. I wish her all the best - not that she needs my well-wishes! She's doing just fine. And hey, she's got YOU in her corner! How can she lose??! ;)

The wire drop was truly spectacular, the logistics of making that happen from getting the stage in position to getting her on the ground must have been astronomical. It was pixel perfect. Amazing that so many can't give her and her team some credit for that. In the press they preferred to ridicule her slight tummy overhang, anything to distract from the performance. I'd love to know what Bob Hope would have said, you can bet it would have be funny at least.

So many great tones on that one Wes! Trower brought me to buy my first start back in 77!

Better Beyoncé' old outfits than Dwight Schrute's, I guess.

I wonder what Ralf Kilaueas will do now he's been completely out staged by GaGa.
