I thought I detected a trend for "oh, oh" choruses after Phillip Phillips "Home". There is a commercial using a song called "Day To Feel Alive" that is so close, I don't know how he has avoided a plagiarism suit. Top

It seems to me, that it tends to manifest itself when the vocalist (Not entirely sure I want to use the word, 'singer') should be sustaining a note, and incorporating some vibrato, but they don't. Maybe because they can't. Perhaps you've witnessed this: an aging vocalist/singer can no longer hit the high notes, so when the high note comes, they stand at the edge of the stage, and hold the mic out over the audience and let THEM hit it. Sad, and somewhat pathetic, as well. BTW, Ivan I don't know how old you are, but I'll be 57 this month. Not quite sure I'm ready to refer to myself as an old guy. (Or old codger.) One exception, a song by Chvrches called The Mother We Share, I don't think is a great example of what they were trying to show.
