Just found out I wanted to throw together a map of where 60s surf bands came from. So far I got a lot of the obvious, but has anyone a suggestion as to where I can find mentionings of this? I mean like towns and neighborhoods (as specific as possible...especially in the SoCal area) I know liner notes and Bob Dalleys book has a lot of this. I have Surfin Guitars, but I don't have it where I live now, so I won't be able to look this up quite yet.
Maybe someone already made such a map?
Let me know!

We have a surf band map:

You can filter on active versus inactive. I started going through Bob Dalley's book and adding the bands from there. I didn't get all the way through so if someone wants to help add bands, let me know.

Ah thanks a lot...yeah I did see that map, but I thought it was only 2nd 3rd wave bands, but see now that indeed there are 60s bands as well. Great stuff!
Does anybody if DD and the Deltones were specifically situated in any area? I mean I read that DD himself grew up in El Segundo and then the Deltones became the house band in Rendezvous Ballroom in Balboa, but did they have a hangout/rehearsal place they would call home, and where would that be?
