One fun and virtuous aspect of those supposed 'other forums' is observing discussions that get so silly and ego-oriented, that one must wonder, if it's inescapable when dealing with such vast and varied human base.

[ex.1: a wonderfully hillarious current thread about power cables.](https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/amp-power-cord.1778766/

This place SG101! is a rarity. Whether it's down to the coolness of the people, the reverb frequencies, true love to the music, real communication with it's creators, respect for it's visionaries and contributors...
Seems that you made an ideal example of an 'Internet Community', as much as such a thing can exist.

Dig it. The last place before SG101! I thought there was such a community (even with civilized differences of opinion), I had a PC-XT (with 1 floppy AND a 10MB hard drive), and a .MIL connection via my job to some obscure university in Champaign, IL who were developing something called a browser (huh?) that ended up being called Mosaic. The people here make this place; the rest is just geography & file cabinets.
