Hey all!
Just uploaded a new demo of my project, The Bookhouse Boys.
The tune is "Bombora!/Death at Mavericks," which fuses The
Original Surfaris' tune with some of my own stuff.
Lemme know what you think, ok? Be honest. Be brutal. I can
take it.
Thanks!

Honestly, I like it.
The fact is I'll listen to it as it is, but to really glass it out you need
to tighten up a bit, and it needs a better production to smooth it out. I'd mic everything and then sort through. You say it is a take off of Bombora?? I think it has a very original sound to it.
All in all I say it is very good.
Nice Job.

You have some crazy ass digital flange that I'm not really into. I'm just being honest.

Thanks, guys, for your comments--that's exactly what I'm looking for!
As far as miking is concerned, I unfortunately do not even own an amp,
so that's (at least for the time being) not an option. I guess I could
borrow someone's, though. (Or perhaps I should sell some of my
first editions. . . .)
One thing I don't like about it is the "open space" sound to it. What
is generally used to make things sound more "professional"?
Compression?
I know I need to work on the EQ a bit.
Thanks again!!!

My hat's off to you. You used a Ensoniq ASR-10 sampler that is what ? Over 10 years old? A squire start and a Ensoniq FIZMO synthesizer, and a Digitech Digiverb pedal. Than created the demo you uploaded.
There are some full blown bands here that barely come close to what you have produced.
It's true that you don't have the greatest sound, and the greatest equiptment, and so on and so on. I say blahhhh. Keep going. I wish I could create something like you have. I have thousands of dollars worth of equiptment, and I have no demo to upload. I will one day, but that is then.
Keep on keeping on!

I think this is a good tune but those sounds in the middle (sinthesizer I think) are a bit of an excess. The guitar is flawless on this song.

Hee hee! And I thought the keyboards were good, and the guitar was
crap!
If you only knew how many overdubs were on the guitar parts. . . .
Thanks for the input!

Hi Joel! Yeah, the sampler is actually around 15 years old. The FIZMO
is a bit newer, and purchased off eBay a few years ago for $300, which
is a bargain, considering they now can fetch up to $1000.
Thanks for your input!
