Hey B!

I've been meaning to suggest this for a while, but bumping that Duane interview thread this morning is causing me to actually post it. It'd be sweet to be able to render the Soundcloud preview/player within a post like we do pictures. Next best, IMO, would be as a post footer like YouTube/Vimeo attachments.

As always, THANK YOU for all you do to keep this place humming along and continually improving! And thanks in advance for your consideration of this feature!

I'll look into it! If they support the same open embedding protocol that YouTube and Vimeo do it should be very easy.

Looks like Reverbnation also supports it.

SoundCloud embedding support is enabled. They support embedding widgets for users, groups, sets, and playlists. Seems like you just need to grab the URL in your browser's address bar and plug it into our "attach video" form here for this to work.

ReverbNation embedding support is now enabled. They support embeds for artist profile pages and song pages. For artist pages, just grab the URL of the artist page from your browser's address bar. For song pages, click the "Share" button on the song/track and copy the link shown there.

Attach them exactly the same way you did before for YouTube and Vimeo videos. Please note that I haven't changed the verbiage for the forums form controls (it still says "Attach Video", etc). I'll change that when I redo the forums to the new V3 design.

Let me know if you have any problems. Thanks again to Fady for suggesting the idea.

P.S. Bandcamp doesn't seem to directly support this yet. If you are a Bandcamp user I'd encourage you to write to them and ask for oEmbed support.

Here's a ReverbNation embed for Ralf and friends.

It's kind of tricky to get the right link for ReverbNation. I'll try to make a little video or screen cast for that soon.
