Semi-Hollowbody Guitars - Who has one? What do you got?

I might try to save up for something like an Epi Sheraton or similar someday. After breaking the Mrs. out of the hospital a few days ago getting her to Kenny Rogers' final Christmas deal I got to hear a really good player on what looked like an ES-275 (or similar dimension) and remembered, "ahh, that's what a nice humbucker sounds like." I don't know about these animals that don't have access to the control cavity like it seems on most of the ES-3xx's (other than like the Epiphone B.B. King thing, maybe get one of those). Some people must have smaller hands than me. Never know. A 335 or similar has always drawn me, probably 'cause I guess they're one of the most recorded guitars ever. (Hell, I swore for the longest time I'd never find a Tele I liked either so go figure.) I might have to start saving my bottlecaps & get a paper-route again in the spring and educate myself over the winter. But these sure are neat and make pretty music. A few tricks that "someone" would be willing to show you plus a little patience.....you'd have no problem working on these beasts. The Gibson ES-333's from the early 2000's have an access panel for the controls. That's what the red Gibson in my picture is. Cheaper than a 335 but still a bit expensive. With the proper approach they are only mildly more annoying than any number of guitars. Believe it or not, the biggest pain in the ass models can be Fenders. If you have a body you can't drill out, good luck trying to rewire through those tiny holes Fender made to get wire through. That is the 1962 Sheraton model, nothing else in the ES-335 body type range comes near it for the price. I needed a new nut on mine, which 9/10 times is true for a guitar under $700-800. I put a Bigsby on mine(duh) and kept the pickups stock. You could really do it right and get a set of Lollars. Mini-Humbuckers use that classic PAF design, so you are going to be in that ballpark. They are just fine pickups. Top

If you can find a Korean or Japanese Epi, those are the best. Also the coil tap will allow it to get Fender if you so desire.
